Cesc Fabregas felt he sent a message to his critics in the media after his extra-time double
Chelsea are into the fourth round of the English League Cup following a 4 – 2 win over Leicester City at the King Power stadium.

Chelsea were coming into the match following a 2 – 1 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League last Friday while Leicester City had just defeated Burnley 3 – 0 on Saturday.

In the first half of extra time, Cesc Fabregas scored in the 92nd and 94th minute to give the Blues the much-needed morale boosting victory.

After the victory Fabregas said: “The team were fantastic. Hopefully this will shut [up] a few journalists, a few dailies [daily newspapers], a few whatever who are talking rubbish all the time.”

He continued: “Let’s focus on what is important – Chelsea winning. I am focused on winning and playing well when I have the chance to show what I can do.
Because I know what I can do and it is a lot for this team.”
The midfielder added: “We started the game sloppy, so sloppy. I know things are new and we’re trying to learn different things but we started the game really sloppy. From midway through the first half and especially in the second half you saw what we want to do and the way we want to play.”

Recall that Fabregas was left on the bench as Conte preferred Nemanja Matic, Oscar and N’Golo Kante. Goal reports that the player’s representatives have already contacted Real Madrid about a potential move. SportItalia is reporting that the 29-year-old has been offered to Milan.

However, Conte has rejected all transfer rumours.
